This is an exciting time to be joining our newly organized team. Designed and organized for success, we are now looking for the right person to join our Engineering and Technical Team as Environment Manager. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering and Technical, the Environment Manager is responsible for the administration of the mill’s permits and regulations, communications with regulatory agencies, and the development and implementation of environmental management programs consistent with legislation, regulations, and project commitments. Our Environment Manager will be the principal liaison between government and non-government agencies, the public and the company. The Environment Manager also provides technical support for issues arising with onsite treatment systems and offsite monitoring and provides environmental awareness training to employees.
The Ideal Candidate
· You possess a strong understanding of the pulp and paper manufacturing process and industry, pollution control devices and associated federal and provincial regulations and acts;
· A degree in Environmental Science, engineering or equivalent education is preferred, with a professional designation;
· As a minimum, 5 plus years' experience in environmental management, preferably in the forest industry;
· Experience with energy and quality (ISO) management systems will be considered advantageous.
